Excellent!

Hopefully by the end of the summer I will be ready to start screwing up my car with paint of some kind

It’s been slower moving than I wanted but still moving forward I guess. I want to repaint the bottom section of the red dash too before black is sprayed.

I need to buy a steel front valance to replace my cracked fiberglass one. Are they pretty much all reproduced in the same place with different brands on them?

Default And more

The top is pretty good but passenger lower corner must have gotten a chunk hit out of it at some point.
The bumper is really the last repair before a final primer, etc before black.

Presuming that's bondo on the bumper, make sure you get rid of all of it from the bumper. Sandblasting the bumper then repairing gouges and cracks with two part 3m epoxy is the way to go.

Yes! There’s about 3 inches of bondo there. That’s the worst part of it.

Looking at that bumper about how many hours would you figure to prep that bumper for primer?

Hard to say. I stripped and prepped mine for the body shop, but it didn't need nearly the repairs yours needs. I had a bunch of hairline cracks and some small chunks to repair. It was also covered with a thin coat of bondo or high built primer which made the cracks worse.

I will say the two part epoxy is great stuff, I haven't seen any sign of cracks in my bumper since it was painted 8 years ago. I'm not sure how much it's recommended to build it up though.

Old thread with some tips on repair: http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=689837

Search for some old posts by PaulAtFast in the Body Shop forum. He posted a lot of good info on how to work with these bumpers.
