In all cases, they are standard stock design rims.

In photo #1, it's the original 14" rims.

In photo #2, it's stock GM 15" rims with factory poverty caps and NOS 15" GM trim rings (I jokingly claimed it was a rare dealer installed option...)

In photo #3, it's Wheel Vintiques Series 62 17" reproduction stock appearing rims with with factory poverty caps. The redlines are painted on the rims and are not on the tires.

Bart

If you ever decide to move one of those VW's - I might be interested. Our daughter has a penchant for different looking vehicles (she bought 2 Pontiac Aztec's new and still has her last one in storage (pending an engine replacement). As a little girl, she really enjoyed the Sweet Pickles books and they had the "sweet pickles bus"...

She'd love to have a VW van, thing or pickup! I think she'd really appreciate the patina on the VW panel...

Thanks for info champ. The redlines really fooled me. just great.

Being a deadhead I ahve to say I am partial to the magic buses also. really awesome Bart.

Here are a couple shots from last summer for me. I was able to get a fair amount done in preparation for spring that is now on hold with Corona. Dropped in 3.36 gears with a yukon posi unit, chased and fixed some electric gremli,ns in interior lights, and as we speak, a TKO 600 is replacing my M20, along with a new tunnel, and carpet while the patient is open. Very anxious to get the car back, too bad I won't use 5th gear as much with no car shows to drive too...

Hoping to finally get my resto mod 72 done. I’ve only driven it on and off the trailer since the suspension was updated, paint, interior, pretty much never driven the car.

I’m going to take the GN out this evening for a quick cruise

Very nice! I've had 2 GNs now, and they're quite addictive when it comes to modifications.

Is that a General Lee you're hiding from us?

That's sooooo cool!

I've had my eye on one myself. It's a little rough, but I've always wanted a 69 Charger. It being a General makes it even cooler!

I had a guy stop by the house today asking where he could find one. Said everything he finds is the $70k plus range. Those cars are so poorly built from the factory but look soooo good! If you can find one that is complete and not insanely priced jump on it!

I have a story sort of like that.

This photo was in the Detroit News coverage of the Woodward Dream Cruise.

And a better photo for reference.

Ready for the season, with a fresh TH400 trans. I've already had it out a couple times this year (once to fill up with that sweet, sweet, inexpensive premium gas).

The Chevelle is sitting in the car trailer, gutted, (patiently) awaiting a new race motor.

I favor assuming the Front Damper got lose. But i dunno. If it broke at Peak TQ RPM then it could also be the Crank reached its Flexure Life Limit per the Goodman Curve.

I think it was a product defect. Only had about 300 passes on it.

(Broke on the starting line).

I forgot to post my factory limo....

This photo was taken circa 1959/60 at my dad's parent's home. I'm the one on the right picking apples out of Grandma's crab apple tree...

Dad bought the 1949 Cadillac Limo in 1958 when I was 4 years old. 1949 was the first year of the Kettering overhead valve V8 and there were only 626 of these cars made.

We were a family of 8 at the time and everyone had a place to sit down. As time went on, the family expanded by 2 more boys and this was what dad used to take all of us to the lake on the weekends. The trunk held the wicker picnic basket, the blue metal cooler (I still have both), 10 beach towels, a bag of charcoal and all the food to feed 10 people...

For some reason, in 1965 with 2 kids in college and 6 more at home, dad parked the Caddy because he couldn't afford to repair the brakes, planning to get it fixed "someday". Dad sold cars for a living, so he always had a demonstrator. Mom didn't drive, so the Caddy was his "toy" car.

Fast forward to 1995, dad had a heart attack and to make a long story short, I restored the Caddy starting in 1995 and dad drove the car for the first time in 32 years on Father's Day of 1997.

The Caddy after restoration:

My dad, with his Caddy, the last time he saw the car:

In case you've never seen a first year Kettering Overhead Valve V8:
