Default A little fabrication

So as most here know we’re re doing a TA. We bought a used tilt steering wheel column, that had a busted off signal lever damaged during shipping. The ones the parts books sell are NOT correct they do not even fit in the column so....... Mike fabricated his own. I think he should reproduce them.

Being that this is your birthday I thought "A little fabrication" had something to do about your age.

You can’t fabricate perfect.

Thank you I will tell him. he is very handy when it comes to things like this. Even made brackets in my 69’s trunk to hold my fire extinguisher, and the AACA judges thought it was a factory option it looks like it was always there.

Nice job! If that's that push in type handle he should make another dozen or so, I dont think they're that easy to find. I guess I shouldn't be surprised knowing what your Firebird looks like, but I thought that 78 was a pretty decent car when you got it. I guess with yours and Mikes touch it will be as nice as your other car when finished.

Well the TA over all is a nice car, but as you get into it you find things that just need re done or replaced because I am just sooooo darn fussy, and Mike is worse! this car was bought to be a driver and cruise night car not a show car, but then the 69 wasn’t going to be a show car either and we all know how that turned out and so it begins the little details matter. Lol thanks K.

I understand completely. Now with the show/cruise season going to be delayed you will have enough time to get it back on the road without missing too much.

??? Looked like a TH350 w/ kick down cable...?

Looks like a lot of work getting done, and a lot more to go. When I see someone with a lathe in their garage, that’s a defining factor to me in what a person is able to do to a car!!!

M. A., are you all going to put a quadrajet back on the engine?

A few things working on, brakes, gas tank, and these door thingies were missing and we found a set in a junk yard. Before and after I detailed them. This car is not a power windows and door locks car.

Did it have rear disc, when you got it?

Might have to move to his thread to the 77-81 section, a build thread!
