Classic Copper 70Z still in the garage, but I might as well visit Memory Motel with the cars that used to mean so much to me. ----

I only put my GTO up, but if Chevy's are allowed, here's my wife's '72 Camaro:

Originally purchased from the original owner (76 year old widow) in 2000. Car was Placer Gold with black vinyl top, 350 sbbl, 3 spd manual with console and air.

Original engine rebuilt with dual pattern cam, Holley Contender intake, Eddy 600 carb, Sanderson CC3 headers and true dual exhaust system.

The car painted with PPG Radiance II Romanesque Crimson Pearl over Brickyard Red with shadowed in checkered flag graphics, 81 Z28 fender louvers, shaved door handles, Dakota Digital dash and '95 Camaro buckets seats.

Took the 71 out today. Its a beautiful 60 degree March day. We don't get those often, so I had to take full advantage.

My 70 Buick Wildcat - which has been with me about 35 yrs.

And my 64 GTO which is about 4-ish years into the restoration - but I hope to have the metal shaping finished and into new primer soon for the endless block-sand and prime cycle.

So nice, really loving early 2nd gens. Too bad they're pretty much out of reach now, I had the idea of a plain Jane early 2nd gen sleeper with poverty(dog dish) caps.

Default As soon as the shop can take them...

...I wish I had my metal building garage with the lift, I have the time (for now) to do a lot of the work planned for our 65 GTO and 70 Roadrunner. Fortunately my wife and I are both in healthcare, but the equipment I repair and service isn't seeing much or any use right now. My wife is a RN, so she's busy.
Anyway, both cars are getting Vintage Air AC systems, Wraptor serpentine belt and accessory systems. The GTO is having the Ford-based Quick Performance rear axle housing swapped out and the new housing has the correct adjustable lower lift bar brackets on it, and I'm permanently switching to Global West coilovers. The new TKO600 5 speed is going to make the 3.80 gears a lot easier to live with, and the top option "White Lighting" shifter will make rowing the gears faster, easier, more precise
with the gas pedal floored and BONESKE-FIED Tripower WFO going down the 1320. The Hydramax hydraulic throwout bearing will help right away, but it's mainly so I can add a HitMaster launch control system to it. It already has Wilwood 4 wheel disc brakes, and I got to use the line lock, which helps the launch. Dakota Digital Rally gauge set going in the GTO, and I have Dakota Digital gauges for the Roadrunner too. Cold Case radiators are going to keep them cool.
The Roadrunner gets 6 piston caliper Wilwoods all around, and power steering with a Borgeson box. Line lock, Hydramax hydraulic throwout bearing and HitMaster launch control system are going in. Calvert rear sliders and split mono leaf springs, and Assassin traction bars. Both will get either chromoly or aluminum high performance driveshafts.
And now...the pix!

My 1961 Bonneville. 348hp tripower, four speed, special order paint in Mandalay Red which was a 1959 factory color. My understanding is the original owner previously had a 1959 Bonneville and he liked the color, so when he bought the '61 he had it painted the same.

The last picture was in the local newspaper a few years ago, taken at the state fairgrounds in St. Paul in 1962. There's no way I can prove it, but I suspect that's my car parked at the curb.

This is the 1961 Bonneville convertible I had before the hardtop. Sadly, I didn't have room for all the cars so I had to sell it...I still miss that one, it was just driver quality but it was a fun car.

your car looks great. i reallly like the rims/tires and stance. Are those Rallye I wheels painted black?

I have Rallye I wheels, but my center cap is the one that shows the lugnuts. Was wondering if I can just pop those dog dish caps on my centers
