1967 68 NOS firebird fenders???
Looking at a "NOS" ?? set of 67-68 firebird fenders.
What is the difference between GM NOS and repops. Should the GM NOS fenders have the Blue green and white part number tag and should the fenders have the factory holes for the emblems in them. Not sure how to authenticate original NOS fenders. Any help would be appreciated. thanks |

The only way to tell NOS '67-'68 fenders is with the blue and white NON-BARCODE stickers. I believe these were all gone in the '70's. The newer, supposed, NOS
GM fenders (with barcode stickers) are all repops. Not much better than what you can buy these days, other than they have a GM sticker on them. The firstgen site has (had) lengthy discussion threads about all of this about ten years ago. I bought the barcode sticker ones back on '07, had them side by side with Goodmarks, and they were identical. (all the flaws were identical as well) I do not remember whether they were drilled for the emblems, but I do not think they were. |

GM NOS fenders were still available from the dealer up into the early/mid 90s.
I bought a set in the late 80s from the dealer.. GM label, no barcode. FWIW... NOS is still not as nice as factory assembly line parts. Crispness of character lines, features, form.

All the GM NOS fenders I have seen had no holes. GM fenders have pressed in square nuts for hood hinge attachment, repops do not have those.
