Default Booster

I got a great deal on this booster. The gentleman that I bought it from said that he had it on his '69 Chevelle before he went Hydroboost. I never thought until now about the master cylinder that I'm going to buy, as I am switching to Disc/Drum brakes with the ('67 and up) 2 bale MC.
The booster has a long pin on the front that pushes into the MC. In looking at it, it appears that it's threaded on, and the booster likely had a few of these pins with it when it was new.
Seeing as this is the only pin that it came with, is this one that will work with a typical MC? How will I know what to order so that I get a "deep" corresponding socket in a new MC unit?
