that was my next question, 2004-R. what comes with stage 3? I've been seeing a lot of negitive comments about installing a 700R4.
Will the 2004-R bolt right on or do I need a adaptor?
I have a 400ci with the Edelbrock Performer package in it and a 650 cfm carb.I don't plan or racing but of course with that much power you gota hit the pedal every once in a while.

With that in mind, the 2004-R would be fine, right?
thanks for your help guys

Yes, it'll bolt up the the Pontiac. The Level 3 is the best they build. You'll need a Th350 driveshaft and some mods for a crossmember, or you can buy one for he application. The real Art Carr makes good tranny's as well, not the company. He sold the name/company. Someone might have more info. Also, theres tons of info here in other sections and on classicalpontiac in the archives. I've been beating the hell out of my tranny for a few months now.

My friend has a Gearvendors OD unit in his '71 GS 455 Buick. 816 lb/ft of torque at the wheels on JBA's dyno with no problems. Very strong unit.

The car is down right scary on the freeway with the extra gear.
