Yes,it has a 4.35x4.35 bore/stroke. Tires are 275/60/15 Hoosiers.

The suspension is simple but it works. In the rear it has UMI upper and lower arms with their Roto joints so everything moves freely. BMR 2” lowering springs, CE 3way drag shocks set on firm, and a Spohn anti-roll bar. The trans tail shaft is down 1.5 degree and the pinion is up 1/2 at rest so they should be just about parallel under load.

The front has Tempest 6cyl springs with Lakewood 70/30 shocks and no sway bar.

How does the car drive on the street with the Spohn and no front sway bar?

Actually really well. It's not going to win an autocross but it stays pretty flat in the corners. With the factory rear sway bar and no front bar it felt like it was going to scrape the door handles on a turn.

Ha, yes that's how mine feels with no front bar too.. Basically undriveable in my opinion. . Guessing the rear bar cured that problem?

That car is one bad mo-fo!! Nice job

I like leaving it in drive for the brackets, it makes the car deadly consistent. When I get beat it’s always because I screwed something up. The way the governor is now if you manually shift it will still hang in gear until the springs and weights are ready to do their thing.
I'd like to try letting the trans shift so I don't have to look down at the tach so much. When you have time will you start a thread or PM me about how to change springs and modify weights?

I recently purchased radials for the GTO. I looked for a non aggressive tread and a tread width( for less contact on the road ) that is not a wide as the tire width. The Big O store had Custom 428 AS. The tread is 5 3/8 " side to side.

That thing's hauling ass, congratulations!

I'm really surprised they let you on the track with the trim rings. That's a big no-no at my track.

Get a shift light and never look at the tach.

Excellent job TCS. Cool to see a big motor street car getting it done. I assume you have a roll bar or is the track lenient on the rules?

I have the new TSP converter installed in dad's, and I knocked the gear down to a 3.42 last week hoping to make the car a little easier for him to drive. The converter feels nice so far, I think Jim hit another home run. Heading to the track next month but not sure yet how that will go. With no roll bar he already had a talking to the last time down. I'm not sure he'll get enough repeated runs to get comfortable with the car.

No roll bar. There were a lot of fast late model street cars there that day. A Porsche 911 ran almost identical times as me. A Nissan GTR ran 11 flat. A couple of Audi sedans ran in the mid 11’s. It seemed like every GM LS motored car wheather it was a Camaro or Cadillac was turbo or supercharged and very fast. No bars in them either.

That's how I remember the Ohio tracks being when we lived there.
