Default lets see those "A" bodies

Spring can not get here fast enough. I purchased my GTO in DEC. and have not really had a chance to drive it.
Next weekend is the start of the GTO make over.
Remove the "extreme motor" and install the original 400 block with a six pak.
do engine prep work and should be rolling fine for April 7 when the GTO is .
scheduled for a paint job. Will reshoot it with the ascot silver.
Lets think spring, lets see pics of those a bodies

John, I've seen them before, me being 75lemanssc over at the a-bodysite, but always great to see again. Have you thought about putting some GTO stripes on it and if so, what color would they be? Black and red, I guess?

I agree. I like seeing the pics of the "Tri-Power" 73 Goat again too. In the one pic, is that Sid's Goat behind yours?

Have thought about the stripes. The only set of stripes I knew of were very $$$. I was looking into having them made but the deal feel through.

Chief Wanabee
My bad. I work with a mopar boy. I will put the "six pack in the fridge for later.

BillyG
The pics that I posted are actually pics from Bruce. I havent had a chance to get any good pics of my own other than the engine compartment..........

ralley 2's, yeah I can see it. I have a set of honey combs a set of snow flakes and a half a set of ralley2 hangin around.
I kinda likwe the moon caps with beauty ring.
But I'm the kinda guy that likes the non flash, whip your a** cars.
Guess its an age thing. Remeber seeing lots of cars with just poverty caps. I kept thinking why isnt this car flashy with lots of chrome? Then all I seen were tail lights after he smoked me out.
ahh the smell of burnt rubber. Come on spring!

Nice rides. I had the Olds 260 auto in a 77 442 and it wasn't bad. I liked that car alot and miss it, wish mine had the 5 speed though. Car had 135k on it when I sold it and it still ran strong.

pontiacmuscle - weren't you looking to swap the engine ?

If only 10 or so were made I would keep it together and find another correct 5 speed trans. It's too rare to change it. It's a V8 with a 5 speed !!! Something not seen again until recently from the auto industry.

John;
In reality; its a rare combo which is why Im going to keep the 260 in the garage (for a doorstop) and put something in the engine bay that can make some torque and have some fun with the car. The original 5 speed was long gone when I got the car so If I come across one in a Chevette (T-50) I'll set it aside.
Im still going to do a swap; in fact the Saginaw that had replaced the T-50 is long gone......
I'd found a car on Epay I was going to use for parts to do the conversion to Pontiac Power.....but after it got here and I saw what condition its in; I really changed my mind....alot nicer than I expected.
