16 percent slip is Not good -- you know that -- time to fix that convertor -- I was seeing 8k on mine and never saw an engine issue, have you considered a 4.10 rear gear??? it will tighten up that convertor.

With 8 quarts of John Deere Hygard, 3rd gear slip is ~5% @ 7740RPM

We has a parts failure October 13th, the transmission case cracked during the run. The internals were in good shape so we replaced any worn parts and the case.

A little pre-Christmas update on the Raven’s winter refresh. The engine has been disassembled and delivered to
Kingsley Automotive Machine . The IAII iron block and Callies Performance Products Ultra rods checked out good. Ross pistons, pins and rod bolts as well as the cam shaft will need to be replaced. The damper hub cracked along the keyway. Innovators West, Inc. West is upgrading the 1 7/8th hub to 2 1/16th and also adding a second keyway. The camshaft keyway is also starting to crack. I’m updating the timing belt setup from the BOP gen1 to gen4 version. The bottom timing sprocket will be modified to accept the larger damper and second keyway. The 9.5 PTC - Performance Torque Converters was sent in to get checked out to make sure there was no internal damage when the transmission case broke. The converter will also be tightened up a bit.

Ed,
Since you have to replace the cam will you be making any changes in timing based on your testing or stay with the same profiles?

Stan

I had the same issues cracking damper hubs --running the dry sump and the mech fuel pump was hard on it also had to do the timing belt upgrade on one of the motors -- did the tranny have a solid mount -- or urethane ??

See you should've kept that Professional Products damper.... I'm sure it would've broke into two pieces and prevented you from having to deal with a cracked hub.

How many dampers did you go through and which brand? Single or double keyway?
The trans mount is urethane.

Why did you switch to a shorter stroke? For durability or will it make more power with the shorter stroke?
