Default 74 GTO value

A friend of mines dad restored this 74 back in the mid 90s, he passed away a few years ago so my friend has decided to sell it. I am looking for opinions on what it may be worth. It was restored original and is matching #s

Looks good to me. I'll say it's worth $20K easy, if everything else is as nice as what the pics show.

If I had the money, I'd definitely consider buying it myself. Had a '74 Vent bracket car. Would not mind at all having a '74 GTO, for street or street/strip.

Most say it's best to put it on Ebay, with a really high reserve, just to get an idea, and to get the word out. From what I've seen, you're wasting your time on most Pontiac forums. Most of the forum guys are either broke, are must have a dirt cheap bargain price, before they'll even consider buying anything used.

Back to the original question on price. These cars are all over the place on what people ask for, and what they end up selling them for. Depending on the rest of the cars condition, I would say somewhere between 10-15K and its possible to get a little more and also be offended. Just depends on how bad/quick he wants to sell it and how long he's willing to wait for that one buyer, not a tire kicker.

Thats is a real nice car! !! Already have 2 of them and a 70, Thats why I'm broke and on a Pontiac forum... so I can't buy it.

I'd buy it for that price all day...but, I'm broke and on the forum too (haha)!!! If it was a 4-speed it would bring closer to the 20K mark in my mind. It really is a pretty color and I like the non-AC aspect of it too. I'd like to see the PHS or build sheet if you have it and wouldn't mind posting it.

I will be talking to him this weekend and will try to have him come up with a #. I would also like him to get it down off the lift and take some interior and under hood pics to show how nice it is

455 Pontiac - I like the bench seat and column shift automatic. Does it have Safe-T-Track (posi)?

Jody - I think you need another '74 GTO for the pure stocks! Build a 9.1:1 360 (354 +.030) motor, TH350 and 4.10 gears for high 13's...what do ya think???

I miss my 74. No ps build though. I would want to drive it and enjoy it. That was my intention with my 72 but I ended going farther with it than what I am comfortable driving a ton.. I miss driving an old car.

If anybody is really serious about wanting a '74 GTO for racing, I know where there is a old school Stocker for sale. He said he won a division points race with it, and I believe he said it ran low 13's.

He said it does not have any roll bars and could easily be put back on the street. So, it might be a good candidate for some sort of pure stock class. If anybody is serious interested in this '74 GTO Stocker, PM me for contact info.

Actually, building a PS motor with only 9.1:1 compression and a 066 style cam would work great with the standard 3.08 gears on the street and be pretty peppy and get better gas mileage too.
