Smile Throwback Thursday wayyyyyy back

Anyone care to share a picture of your Mom or Dad loving this addiction and love we all have for this time travel backwards thing we call classic and antique cars or trucks? Any make or model.

Here is one I have of my Mom. She was actually a pin up girl back in her day. RIP momma.

Great "mom" photo!
If I were to find one of my mom at that age, it would be with a much older car- she learned to drive in an early Model T Ford.

Summer 1968
Mom in a bikini , Dad no shirt , Me with the frog removal weapon
66 Thunderbird Town Landau my Grandfather ordered new.

Myrtle Beach, SC
First and Last family camping vacation (tents).

There was a national frog convention at that campground during our visit.
(vacation shortened from one week , to 2 days and 1 night)
The bastards were EVERYWHERE by the hundreds and thousands.
My cousin and I were issued frog sweepers to try to keep them at bay and out of the tents.

At night it got 10x worse - real combat mission to get the women to the bath-house/restroom. Me and my cousin sweeping a path as hard as we could go - women squeeling and yelling and CUSSING behind us.
Frogs flying everywhere - worse than a horror movie
Could hear my dad and uncles and grandpa laughing hysterically in the distance.

The men decided next morning we needed to pack up the tents and go to a motel.
The traumatized women decided we needed to pack up the tents and Go Home.
we went home

Was so thankful my dad and uncles and grandpa were not killed on that trip.
My Grandmother seemed more than willing to kill every one of them.

My Dad, bottom right and the gang about 1955. And my wife's Dad. His sister borrowed the car and wrecked it.

Found a few more over the weekend:

Dad (I don't know what car this would be) -

Dad and Mom -

Dad in the Lemans at the Gilmore Museum (this is probably the day he bought it) -

Dad and Aunt Elizabeth (this one is probably out of bounds since there is no car in the photo, but putting it here so it won't get lost) -

Some clips of my Dad's Pontiacs and the invoice for his '57. He had Pontiacs exclusively from 1957-1968.

I don't want to sound geezerish .... but those pics are great, remind me of what made this country great ... any one of these people could have been my parents or grandparents. Lots of good, hard working, tough people back then.
