I wonder if the 17's will begin to show up on BRE Trans Ams, or if the Billet snowflakes will continue to be the only wheel correct for the BRE.

Being a "former" employee of YO they are going to take your money and tell you feb is the date BUT somewhere around the summer is going to be more like it.Don't get me wrong,FINALLY they are doing something for the pontiac folks but they are FAMOUS for taking your money and making you wait and wait and wait and wait and wait.
Jay, please tell me that Kevin King is not having you pimp their products on Perfomance Years.

Russ,

We have been here before...you know the answer to your own question. No date tonight?

Russ, chill out! I think we know that Jay is not a "pawn" for Year One. Cool wheels by the way. Thanks for bringing them to our attention.

I'm definitely looking forward to a set of the 17's. My Birthday is in Feb and I have hinted to the wife that these would be a sweet present.

Any updates on the wheels? Went to Year One and it looks like the wheels are still not available.

I really want to pull the trigger too. But I would hate to dish out the cash now, which I can use for other aspects of the project, and wait until mid summer to see my wheels.

I have a set of the Billet 18x9's Year One Snowflakes and I really can't wait to put them on the 77 SE TA I am restoring. I also just got the 17x9 gold Year One Snowflakes. UPS dropped them off today.
They are awesome. The quality is perfect. Zero complaints here. I will have some tires mounted and snap a few pics of them. For the introductory price, they are a bargin.

Mine were just delivered today as well, they look great! Well worth the wait,
Bandit One, what size tires are you planning to run on these? I cant decide, 275/45/17 front and what rear?
Thanks in advance
Rick

I was thinking 275/40/17's all the way around or 245/45/17 in front and the 275/40/17's in the rear. I will most likely do the 275/40's all the around. I do the 245/275 combo on alot of the 67-69 Firebirds I do. They rub sometimes with the 275's up front. On the second gen Birds I use the 275's. If you go too much larger on the rear the tires don't sqaure up to the rim, they kind of blow out on an angle, which I do not like. If you want any bigger than a 275, you will have to go to a wider (9 1/2 or 10 inch) rim. In which case they do not make. Solves that. Too many numbers, I think I just confused myself!

Are the caps and lugnuts from the 15" interchangeable or are they specific to the 17s?

caps and lugs interchange. 15x8 snowflakes should not be that hard to find. There are a couple of dozen members that 17" bought sets.
I don't know the exact weight ~34 lbs as that was on the UPS box.

My order for a set of gold went in yesterday. I have been debating for months whether these would be appropriate for a BRE type car. The promotional picture of the BRE with the 17's lends tacit credibility to this application, especially since my car looks just like that one. An official opinion to this effect by Mr Year One would be a great talking point for the car, for when the inevitable "Wrong Wheels" comment comes up. The positive comments here sealed the deal.
