I see you have pics of 17x9 snowflakes and stock snowflakes. Which
wheels are you going to put on it? I am helping a buddy build a modified 79 T/A right
now and he purchased the 17x9 wheels for the car and when we went to install them
we discovered that they have much thicker shanks than stock snowflakes and the lug nuts were onlly catching a couple of threads on the studs. We had to change out all the studs on the front hubs and rear axles to new studs that were about 4 threads longer than stock.
If you are planning on swapping wheels back and forth from stock to 17x9 you are not going to be able to do it, because if you put the longer studs on for the 17x9 wheels, the lug nuts
are going to bottom out on the studs when you install the stock wheels. We talked to Year One about the problem and they acted like they never heard of it. I can only assume they are driving around with the lug nuts holding on the wheels by two threads.....INSANE!

So, you're saying the depth of the lug nut holes in the Year One snowflakes is deeper than factory?

I never looked at them that close yet. I'll be using the 17x9's only.

Lester,
Look'n good in the neighborhood!!!
I know there's a lot of different Pontiac engine colors.
Which one, and part number is that one??? It looks like what came on my engine.

Can one of you all measure the lugnut hole on your new 17" (or 15") snowflakes. Will probably be around .735-.745. I'm trying to back some bushings for 1/2" lugnuts and snowflakes but mine are originals and various wear on the holes. Mu factory lig nuts are 0.700 but the wheels are hub centric-my aftermarket axles need lugcentric to center them.

that is very disturbing info...and first ive heard or read about it on any forum.(although i did hear of a backspace issue with thier 17" N90 camaro wheels) these wheels are supposed to be made (i thought) specially for these cars to bolt and go. anyone else run into this prob??

let me know what y'all think of this color.... Lori and I wanted it blue from the start. just thought when I sold it , a Black ta would sell alot quicker then any other color. so now that its not for sale and when I picked up the new paint I got the marty blue and added pearl into the color. the pearl really makes the blue pop and change colors as you walk around the car. we really like it.
here is a few pics. I really hope I dont get doged for a 78 color on a 77. Bones saw it last night and I think likes it.

just paint no clear

cleared

wet sanded

first buff not polished yet.

started getting it back together

Crap, I like it!!!
A good looking paint job makes the car, this one makes the car!!!
Not to different from Lucerne Blue

Does the flex additive, for the nose and tail, still affect the color, like they always seemed to, in the past???

I dont use the flex additive , its a 50.00 rip off. urithane stays like rubber for a few days. long enough to get the bumpers on.

mine are fine.. yes the aluminum is thicker, but the nut hole is countersunk into the wheel . so where the nut bottoms out the aluminum is no thicker then a stock wheel.
