And for that matter the car on the far right looks like it's Chesterfield brown with SE stripes and decals?

I'd say that silver T/A is a 10th Anniversary "mule" or prototype.

Guessing that the T/A's are all 77's & are those Michigan (mfgrs) plates?

That style/color chicken didn't see production till 79 & I believe those seats (leather) were optional in 78/79 Grand Prix's?

Perhaps Pontiac was considering a C & C roof for the 10th?

If I found that silver car for sale in public, the first thing I would have done was pull the seats out and found what you would think would be correct seats for it. That's one of those (WTF was the last guy thinking) cars you see for sale on ebay or CL lol.

Thanks man, I'm quite happy with it. It's pretty much the car I set out to build. Only thing I really want to change is going from a 4spd to a 5spd OD trans and probably some kind of EFI setup.

Default 1979 SE TA "garage escape"

Here's some pictures of my newly acquired '79 SE TA 4-speed. It needs quite a bit of work but the body is very solid. It was sold new in Tulsa, OK and had remained in that part of the country prior to my purchase. I'm going to have some questions!

The TA was last driven 8 years ago. It hasn't been started since then either. A previous owner decided to modify the original engine. The motor compartment is the worst part of the car. The car came with a carb and intake which is supposedly correct or possibly original. The guy I bought it from had tracked down some of the previous owners in order to retrieve original parts.

Nice looking SE. You can join the bandittransamclub.com and get good info there on restoring these cars. I've done a 1980 SE turbo already.Currently enjoying my 81 dark blue metallic hardtop.

Thanks Joe, chalk up another sale to ebay. Here's some pics of the carb. Hope it's the correct one! The engine is going back to a more OEM look. I'll join the bandittransamclub.com, I need all of the tech support I can get.

Here's some underbody shots. The one with my ugly mug is when I held the camera over the rear tire and took a picture facing the outer wheelhouse. There are only a few minimal issues with rust such as under the battery tray.

Some trunk area pictures, a few mouse turds but no rust. The car came with a jack but I don't know if it's correct, the spare tire is missing too. More research is needed to determine what's correct.

The interior needs to be redone. The dash is hacked and cracked. No rust around the A-pillars in the dash area. The passenger seat and driver seat are swapped? The hard plastic trim parts have held up well.

Yea, good buy Bob. I was watching that one on Ebay; looked like a good deal and not too far away from me. Looks like it was even closer to you. If it had been a bit closer, I would've definitely gone and checked it out. Look forward to seeing your progress on the car.
