Excellent. I remember reading about it in Hot Rod in '78 when it was new.

Looking forward to your progress with this one.

Ebay car is not a fire am. Has a few VSE parts and that is it. Its well used. I almost pulled the trigger but a member here looked at it and advised against it. Was available for 5k.

The recently found Turbo Macho T/A is 1978 Macho T/A #180.

Unfortunately, the car was heavily modified at some point in its life and has fender and quarter flares, a whale tail spoiler, etc. It has also been stored outdoors for years.

It is, however, an original 4 speed car and has been verified by Dennis Mecham (I spoke to him personally last night) as a true 1978 Turbo Macho T/A via the original Mecham documentation.

It was fun to crawl all over that car to determine what was what - lots of pics! I checked with the current owners who are running the auction - they cleaned it up nicely but did not change inner fender or change panel alignment. Looks to be a solid driver.

Ahh...the elusive Nacho T/A, very rare. Came with the optional case of Corona in the trunk!

Well when you think of it, almost every T/A ever made is cheesy! Loud flamboyant American cars with birds stuck on the hood

I really like the black and gold combo cars, but in reality I would take any color combo if it was a real Macho.
