Default 71 T37 cost of redoing seats

Just curious what I should be paying to redo my "parody cloth" seats if I bring in the material from SMS? I've gotten quotes between 2000 and 2500 in labor, is that too much? I realize they would have to sew the material etc.

I believe that's on the high end. My son just paid $1,500 to rebuild/re-cover a pair of buckets for his Ranchero. That included materials.
I regret that the bargain-upholsterer near me is about to retire after 60 years in business. Example- about ten years ago he charged me $500 for the custom seat in my '59 GMC. Factory-pleated vinyl wasn't available in my color choice, so he sewed every single pleat! Helped me take 'best interior' at a judged show this summer.

Nowhere near "too much".

Recreating the covers while getting the lines straight of the edges of the vinyl & thin fabric takes a serious level of craftsmanship!

I neglected to ask- was that quote for all seats in the car?

$2000- $2500 is right on target for custom made covers installed.

for front and back, its going to be AT LEAST $1k just to rebuild the seats and install pre-made separately purchased covers... So another $1k to $1500 to properly replicate and custom make the covers? Totally on target, actually might be a bit low IMO.

Prices have skyrocketed over the last 3 years for both materials and labor.

I was going to say, putting pre made covers on is one thing. Sewing and making from material is another.

Yeah, unfortunately no repro T37 seat covers. Material from SMS is $175 per yard for the brocade type material
