Just heard about a 1967 GTO build with a 1200 hp mid engine and all wheel drive. Anyone have info?

That’s an amazing build. Have to wonder how much $$ is in a build like that. $300k?

They destroyed a restorable 67 GTO. Then they put a Chebby motor in it. SMFH.

^^^ What he said. Other than wanting that VIN tag, their starting point made no sense.

Wow! I can't stomach a Chevy in a Pontiac, refuse to even look at them but this thing I'd crawl all over!

So what should he have started with? The guy wanted a 67 GTO, so that's what he built.

It's not like they didn't make enough of em.

The answer should be obvious, unless your question was rhetorical.
They should have started with a gutted shell, and even then they'd
still have to toss a lot of stuff. Floors, firewall, I mean, they're literally
hanging sheetmetal on a cage. They could have sourced the stuff
they needed, but instead they cut up a relatively complete GTO.

Yes, but they started this project more than 11 years ago. Times have changed, what is valuable now and highly sought after, much less so back then.

They made 65k coupes in 67. I think we'll be able to survive with a few being cut up and modified.
