Default 1965 Tempest in CA

A buddy of mine in CA has a couple of neat and clean projects for sale. He doesn't know I'm posting on PY for him as he's a pretty low-key guy but unless he puts these things out there for the Pontiac crowd to see, they'll continue to collect dust in his collection. He's an EXTREMELY knowledgeable Pontiac guy that has had his cars featured in Pontiac pubs so be confident you are dealing with somebody that knows and loves 'em and knows what he's looking at when describing them honestly. That being said, this is one he has posted on my Full Size Pontiac website...

Original CA car from San Fran area. Originally a 326 powerglide car with column shift and bench seat.

Now has a 73/74 firebird 400 with about 20K miles on it with a T-400 trans with maybe 7k. 12 bolt Chevrolet rear with 3.55 gears and posi out of a 68-72 model. Will roast the tires at will from a stop light and easily bark 2nd gear. Has a 4 core desert cooler radiator.

Added a factory handling package along with a new L axle, bearing, both seals with pinion seal, and new brakes. Already had KYB shocks all around.

About 5K ago a new front end was installed with polygraphite bushings, ball joints, and tie rods along with a 1.25” sway bar. Installed the Torque Thrust 2 wheels with 215/65R15 tires.

Have all parts ready to go to install front disc brakes with aftermarket booster assembly and stock GTO discs and such.

All electrical works except radio, dome and cig lighter. Has 2 speed wipers and washer, emerg. brake light option, reverse lights, and GTO tail lights.

Straightened out the engine compartment issues. Installed correct clutch fan and finger guard for 65, correct pulleys to match p/s, repaired electrical issues for alternator and feed into car, adjusted carb and whatever else was need to run properly, install correct sending units for idiot lights to work, and repaired fuse box to have dash lamps function.

Removed all bad/ messed up interior, carpet, headliner, sound deadener, and such. Has incorrect bucket seats with I don’t know what for a back seat. Supposedly came from a 64 buick or olds.

Body is not bad for a CA car but more rust than Im used to. Front and rear windows are in good shape as rear was repaired about 10 years ago and just showing some issue. Needs a full trunk pan along with minor holes in 3 spots in interior floor pan. Also has some rust showing in lower quarters but not bad. Needs a new L front fender along with a door. Have located a shell but havnt purchased yet. Rest of car is very solid. Vehicle is in black primer. All Glass is Softray and in good shape.

Car runs and drives very well. Would expect it to make it anywhere it needed to go. Will probably have disc brakes installed by end of week unless someone gets ahold of me before Wednesday.

Looking to get 4500 without discs and 5500 with them. Contact Chris LaCasse by phone
