Default Rear Wheel Bearings

Last Sunday I had a guy drop into the garage, as it turns out he lives about 45 minutes away and has a nice 63 vert 195 3 spd. After talking for a while he asked if I knew where to get rear wheel bearing for these cars. My asnwer was the typical "no"

So I searched the forum and read about the tools to remove and replace the rear wheel bearings but couldn't see any reference to "where to get them"

I've called Kanter and looked in the Ames, USA auto parts catalogs and searched the NAPA site...

So I am back here asking for help again, if anyone knows I sure would appreciate the help.

Heath

I believe you can get the rear wheel bearings from Steve's Corvairs. I am sure someone can here can confirm this.

Any update to this thread? A local friend of mine is trying to source rear wheel bearings for his '63 LeMans. Local parts stores including NAPA no longer carry.

If corvairs use the same bearings, here is a list of corvair vendors, one of them ought to be able to help Pontiac Tempest guys get bearings:

http://autoxer.skiblack.com/supplier.html

Hopefully someone will be able to make a contact for bearings.

California Corvairs has a listing for 61-62, and also a listing for 63-64 at $210 each.

Corvair Ranch shows a bearing for $200, needs to be pressed on shaft.

Clarks Corvair has them too. 60-2 Corvair are the same as 61-2 Tempest
63-64 is same as 63 Tempest. They used to advertise them in the Little Indians Newsletter.
