Have you considered using a 68 firebird emblem and drilling new holes in the bumper "cone"?

That what I did on my 68. The distance between the studs is different between the firebird and the fullsize. I used one of the existing holes and added one hole. If you do that it moves the emblem down a bit, if I remember correctly. But very few would be the wiser. I think in order to put it at exactly the correct height you will be looking at exposing one or more of the existing holes, or perhaps the indentations for the cone to the support bracket.

It was just a thought. I haven't seen a decent full size 68 emblem in forever. But, who knows, you might run across one tomorrow.

Thanks for the idea. It is an older friends car. Been in the family for years.
Looking for a few little things to make it a very respectable driver.
Now a Red A body steering wheel 67 or 68 will do it.
