Victor Intake
Looking for helpful tips on the pro’s and con’s of the clover leaf cast into the Victor 4500 Intake. I’m on the fence of having it removed as I’m considering a Pro Systems SV-1 carb. The clover also tends to limit the use of tapered spacers as well.

Tapered spacers won't matter if you run a SV-1 carb

Agreed, I just see more con’s than pro’s with the clover leaf. What is the benefit, as I’m sure it adds $$ to the casting process.

The clover leaf can help and hurt it depends on the application. If your engine needs more plenum volume and you can't get it somewhere else... Remove the cloverleaf.

Without knowing how many cid your motor is , what heads your running , there ball park runner volume and what they flow, or to be more accurate how much of there flow potential you are making use of with your Cam lift and how high your spinning the motor to, then the your question your asking really can not be answered here!
Some things that you can count on is that both the NW and the Victor can use more Plenum volume with cams above 270 duration @.050" so even just a 1" spacer helps out a good amount with dampening reversion pluses and allowing air flow to take a bigger less restrictive arc into the top of each runner from the Plenum. The longer runner of the Victor will produce more midrange torque then the NW so which Manifold may work best comes down to where the rest of the motor combo is built to make its Torque and hP peak .

At 3520 lbs. we went 5.20 @ 134 in the 1/8 with a pump gas 500ish cid engine. With and without the cloverleaf in place. On that combination it didn't make much difference. Fwiw

Thanks for the reply! I didn’t realize you were talking over 500 cubes. Did you run spacers on either intake? Thanks Murf Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Yes....solid roller, standard pushrod location. You can get the job done with nitrous....you just need a track closer to home.
