Still a long way from being done.
A '75 Formula with a mashup of stuff from the best 2nd Gen years along with lots of great aftermarket stuff. Pix attached of stripe kit from Ames.

I want it to look very early 70's period correct. Minilite (replica) wheels were a "must".

The shaker will be authentic and functional. The engine will be an all-aluminum real Pontiac 482. I wanted to tap into the genuine Pontiac vibe but since it's not a specific SD, HO, etc, the "Ram Air" stickers were appropriate.

We're going to have to fabricate a custom air cleaner base for it since the carb will sit too high for a factory setup. For todays pix, there's a cardboard box under the hood propping the scoop up for the glamour shots.

I’m digging the mini-lites! I’ve thought about getting a set for street tires. I’d change the centers to blue.

Did you get them here?

There's a company called Glasstek that makes a tall shaker, specifically for TA's. I want to get one for my TA, have not yet. I like their design. It's taller than the one in your picture.

I like it, very cool project. This is the engine with Molnar rods and High Ports right ? If it is making it all work with the shaker would be something a lot of people would be interested in how you do it.

Since this is a Road Race car and not a Drag Car, my first thought is the last thing you need is a tall scoop blocking your view during the laps on the road race course. You will need all of the visibility you can get.

The second thing is the typical road race speeds are low enough that the normal scoop opening should feed the engine with enough air for the track racing speeds.

But what do I know, 14 years doing the job as a SCCA Tech Inspector.

I'll be using the stock '73-76 scoop.
For me, it has to be a real shaker.
Yes, it the engine with Molnar rods, Hi Ports, Northwind intake and Dominator. The air cleaner base will end up being pretty short and likely won't have room for an air filter.

TA Hood clearance issues are right up my alley… Haha! This is with Highports, Victor, and a Dominator. Shaker is built into the fiberglass hood. There’s a chance you’ll get a tiny air cleaner on it with a Northwind for driving around but it definitely won’t flow enough to race with it.

Not the best pic but running VTO's on mine. Needs better rubber though as they are "Hollywood" tires - squeal around every corner like in a movie car chase!

They have expanded their lineup since I bought mine a few years back.
