Default finally, seeing progress

I really appreciate the help all of you have provided during this project. I started with a fairly nice 76k mile granny car.

I am not done, so expect the questions to keep coming. I expect the wiring, fuel system and drive-train to be installed by this time next week.

I thank all of you for your continued support!

Shelly-

Looks great.

Did you use Nova sheetmetal?

Thanks! I used Nova aftermarket floors and partial quarters. I found NOS Ventura rear outer wheelhouses (probably the same as Nova) and NOS Ventura front fenders!

Shelly,
It's coming together very nice!!! What power plant and drive train will be going in.
I'm just about done with my body work and all in primer as well http://www.putfile.com/album/129154
The only thing i'm dealing with at the moment is the new ring gear can't seem to get it the way i want it. Then back to getting ready for paint.

It's getting a Spotts built 455, 0.030 over (462), studded bottom end, Eagle rods, Ross pistons, Spott's race-ported #64 heads (flow ~ 265), Comp solid roller 51-816-9 (.600 lift, 270/280 @ .050), Victor intake, BG 1025 Race Demon, Maddog headers, race-prepped th400, Redneck custom 3200 stall converter and a custom Houser 3.42 12 bolt posi rear.

This same engine, but with an RPM intake, small Lunati solid roller (.555 lift, 255/255 @ 0.050) and long branch manifolds pushed my 4300 lb. '69 Firebird convertible to a best 12.56 2 years ago.

With a drop in weight of over 1200 lbs., plus the addition of the Victor intake, bigger cam and headers, I expect to see something in the 10's...assuming I can get any traction.

Shelly,

You have made alot of progress in a short period of time. Last time I saw the car it was like the pictures in post #2. And there was still snow on the ground!

Very nice work.

Radio, a95toy & AGTO, thanks! I appreciate all of your help!

John,

I found it on Craigslist local. I am leaning towards painting it '69 Trans Am colors...white with 2 blue stripes.

I want everyone to know it's a Pontiac!

There is one for sale locally here, girl wants 1500. Quarters are long gone, too much money with the intention of parting it out.

WOW, that's amazing progress! I'll be curious to see how the cam matches to only a 3200 converter and 3.42 gear. The car is relatively light so.... Looking good so far! JD

I have new pictures but can't post them. We test-fit the engine and trans last night...the flexpalte shield hits the firewall. The firewall will require some "persuasion" with a BFH! All of the interior sheet aluminum has been fit. The aluminum dash is in. The seat, harnesses and shifter have all been custom fit for me. The swing-out driver side bar is in. The car has been wired and the fuel system is complete up to the regulator.

We may have the engine in and ready to be fired this weekend. Then install the front clip and it's ready for paint. Still have to:
measure for and purchase a drive shaft
install front clip
install radiator and fan
install guages
tighten all suspension
front end alignment
"make" hood
install lexan

It's getting close! Pictures will be posted whenever the site again accepts them.
