New Strange nodular 3.25" case, 3.89 gears, Strange 35 spline spool, Moser 35 spline axles, 1350 billet yolk and disc brakes. I picked it up tonight. It should be in this weekend.

Yes, absolutely! This weekend we are installing it. The following weekend I am in Chicago for the Bears-Eagles game. But October is wide open. I am also in a private (10 car) track rental at Atco in early November.

The converter got me 6/10ths to 11.10's. I wonder what the gears will do for me. I am assuming mid-10's, if I get traction.

The new 9" Ford rear is installed. It was purchased without the perches installed. We were able to set it in place, move it side to side to center the tires and adjust the pinion angle as needed. Then tack welded the perches into position.

Now we just have to finish the welding and install the new rear brake lines. I will not get to the track this weekend, but hope to next weekend. I'll have pictures this weekend.

I went to the Philadelphia Modifiers event at Atco today. A beautiful day, but a medium head-wind. I had one time trial and went 2 rounds.

My last pass, in round 2 of Pro, I red-lighted. But I ran a 10.872 @ 121.74 with a 1.490 60ft and 6.861 at the 1/8...best ET, mph and 60ft I've ever run. The new rear works great. The car launches hard and straight. Paul Spotts said I got about 4-6 inches under both front tires on two runs (the other was a 1.496 60ft). I had no wheel spin at all. I am hoping that the track photographer was there.

I am finally getting used to the car. These were my 13th, 14th and 15th runs on the car and the first with the new rear. It is hooking great on the MT drag radials.

What a blast! Thanks for every-one's help on the Ventura project!

GREAT news! I'm glad to see the car coming around for you. Did you get my message about the fuel system? JD

Shelly-

That's awesome.

Any idea what the density altitude was? ( mineshaft?)

OK, a new update:
1) I moved from Philly back to Chicago
2) summer '09 saw stagnant results...10.80's to 11.10's depending on the track and weather
3) paint this year, for sure
4) changing heads...removing the '64's and going with a set of Kaufman d-ports, 75cc's and 310 port work. That plus 1.7 rockers should get me close to the low 10's

I cannot wait for spring!

Oh, and the '69 Firebird convertible is just about done. The new 428 should be a blast!

Yes, I left the exchange went back to a private trading firm. I've wanted to return to Chicago for a few years.

Update for 2010:

I pulled the #64 heads a few weeks ago. My new Kaufmann aluminum d-ports arrived today. 85cc chamber and 310 cfm flow! I am also upgrading to 1.65 rockers and adding a stud girdle. I am hoping to get to 10.0 this year!
