Oops. Those are both the original insert with and without the wood grain. Here is the new installed in the car.

That would work... All i need is the stencil i have a sign design place right down the road that could cut them out with the laser cutter....

Default Update Pictures

Most of the interior is installed and we are waiting on a few parts to arrive. Still haven't decided what to do with the dash insert, whether to re-install the wood grain that came with the car, or go teh engine turned route.

I owe Terry (a95toy) a pattern/stensil. Terry, i could send you the old dash for you to use to make your stensils, would that work?

Dennis,
I dug out my extra dash panel and hope to have the stencil's made this weekend if all goes well... Been out of town and catching up with school at the moment. College for this old brain can put me a little behind my plans LOL.. I got a KRE lifter bore brace Sat. and that was the last piece I needed to start my build so i'll get that stencil done quickly I hope LOL....

The interior looks Great!!! I still wish i had the console gauges for mine as well as the tach. In the dash. Looks like I'm going to put the updated hood tach. in for mine and of course paint it the same color as the car... Looks Great Dennis...

Thanks Terry. It's been awhile since my last post. The interior is all but done, except for the dash insert, but it looks really good all black, so we're going to leave it like it is. All the wiring and connections have been checked out and everything works as intended, except the tach. So we have to track that problem down, but it won't prevent me from driving and enjoying the car.

We also put the GTO decals on and they do look nice on a black car with the two-tone orange over the chrome background.

Terry, I'm still interested in a set of the engine turned if you are still making them.

hey guys found a pretty good deal on these on ebay $30 bucks plus $4 shipping.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/371050887018...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT. I would call that a pretty good buy if they fit correct....

Terry, If you do end up making a few sets, I'd rather what for your rather than the vinyl ones on E-Bay.

Terry,

I meant to say "I'd rather wait for the ones you are thinking of making than get the vinyl type they are selling on E-bay". Sorry about the fat-finger typing.

I apologize for changing the subject but does anyone know if the trunk lid and hatchback share identical sheetmetal below the rear window on the 73/74 X-body cars?

Default 74 GTO Finished Product

Here's some photo's of the GTO completed. Now I just have to get the historic plate(actual '73 plate with a '74 sticker) registered at the state and we are ready to play.

Rob, It's the real-deal NOS one Steve Kovacs found for the restoration. Hopefully it doesn't separate like my TA did.
