Great story, Greg. I have no doubt that his attitude is a result of his parent's efforts. He's a lucky and talented young man.

I agree Steve. First thing that impressed me is that his folks seemed to immediately start showing him by example what was possible instead of what was impossible.

A good point proving that everybody can work if they want to. Even Stephen Hawking works.

No doubt his parents deserve a ton of credit for inspiring and supporting him. Easy way out would have been a victim.

wow, wow, wow, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was incredibly moving, which is such an understatement in itself, it flippin' knocked me for a loop, a good one, one of those special slaps upside the head from Creator almost, like "DUDE, what was your lame-@ss excuse again???" Even calling the man a role model does not do the term or him justice. Humbling is all I can say.

I had to share it once I saw it. It was inspirational regardless of his employment but the car connection just made it seem like a good topic here.

Excellent inspirational/motivational video.
I like it he has a car almost twenty years older than himself. Interesting engineering to make it steerable via his left foot.

Its an old story, made the rounds in NC around the first part of last year.

I saw a clip and the story on a local channel and then it got a flurry of attention on various NC forums like: cars, guns, fishing sites....ect but didn't see any more about it until now.

Videos have two or three lives sometimes when second and third round of folks find them.

Good story though with an old car connection.

I actually saw it on someone's facebook timeline...two separate people's timeline actually...so yeah, it's probably beginning that second life. Well deserved I think.

Those You Tube numbers are funny...... the one you linked to has 11,000 + hits and another vid posted has around 40,000 hits.

I went back to the Auto Week story last year and its got an ESPN logo on the video, plus 1.3 millions hits.....!

So many copies hosted and downloads out there no telling how many millions of hits it really had....is there any way to see total hits for one video source?

I doubt it. So many sources for it and so many people downloading from one source and uploading from their own. I guess that's why they use the term 'viral'...It spreads from one source to another and so on. Just guessing though...
