Default Water pump

Where can I get a water pump with the cast impeller, and what is the part number? Or how can I tell a water pump is cast?

The cast impeller does NOT look like an alternator fan. A stamped impeller looks like an alternator fan.

The first picture shows an original factory cast impeller

Second shows a stamped impeller

Third shows the old factory impeller on left and a replacement
cast impeller on the right.

The fourth is the look on your face if you screwed up the reinstall of the
pump

You may have to check a few sources before you'll someone
that installs cast impellers on thier new or rebuilt pumps.

If your seperator plates are in good shape you could reuse but I'd replace.
Replacements are now available on Ebay that are made of stainless for longevity. After all it could be another 30 to 40 years before that water pump will ever come off your motor.
