67 428 rope seal
Can someone confirm that the 67 428 also 421 gets the rear main rope seal from small journal engines 326-400 because the havr a wider grooved seal....from 68 .up 428- 455 up they have the thinner one .....

According to my Pontiac / GM parts book the rear main seal part number 9782831 fits all 421/ 428 and 455 motors and that’s it!

All 67 and up 350/400 motors take the 9772826 seal and a 59 to 66 326/389 motor uses the 9772674 seal.

Thanks for response ..the reason i ask cause the best gasket rope seal 6380s says fits all 326-400 and also but only the 67 428...it seems to tell me that the seal seems to be wide grooved in the 67 428 but not in an 68 428 or later 455...
