How to shorten intermediate parking break cable
I am replacing my break cables and switched to disk breaks all around. I bought all the kits from Right stuff and it appears that the there is too much slack on the intermediate cable.
I am pretty sure this is possible but I have yet to find anything that shows how this is done. Can anyone point me in the right direction how I can cut the cables and apply new ends of the cable? I am talking specifically about the cable in the picture |

what do you have for an adjuster at the forward cable? I had the same problem when I put Wilwood disk on my 67. The new cables came with a cable clamp block the treads onto the adjustment bolt of the forward cable. I just drilled out the block to fit over the old adjustment bolt and used jam nuts to hold it in place. Problem solved. You can see in this picture how it attached to their cable. I drilled out the block so it would slide over the old cable end.

Years ago I had a similar issue with my 68 Ford Truck. I took the cable to the local airport's maintenance building and had them crimp on a new ferrule. Worked for at least 5 years (sold the truck with it still working),

Any industrial store that makes cables should be able to crimp the end
