Disc Brake Upgrade

I just upgraded to rear disc brakes on my 75 GA using the rear disc from an 2001 GMC Jimmy, very straight forward. I got the ideal to do this after reading about the upgrade in How To Restore Your Pontiac GTO by Don Keefe.
My question is has anybody used the front spindles and dual-piston calipers off of the Jimmy to upgrade the front? I know that it is being done on G-Body cars, and the part numbers for the ball joints are the same.
