Make sure you have the retainer clip in place before you put the lock cylinder thru the hole in the decklid is all I can think of otherwise pretty straight forward install.

Put key in the lock so you know which way is up.
Hold the retaining clip in place so lock cylinder can pass through the hole in it. Drop the lock cylinder in. (with gasket) Push retaining clip in place. (this will take a few tries). A small screw goes in the retaining clip. On mine, the trunk hole was a little rough on the inside, so the slot in the lock cylinder was not reaching through enough for the clip to slide on. I put the cylinder in a vise and filed the slot larger. After that, the clip slid on. |

I managed to get my PYLock (trunk lock cylinder) and retainer (a repo part) into the lid and secured with a screw.
I have to turn the key all the way right to get the trunk lid to pop. Wondering if it is tight due to the repop’d retainer? It took quite a few tries to get the retainer holding the cylinder. Any confirmation or additional tips always appreciated! Thx, Brian. |
