Default Door lock knobs

Just looking at my lock knobs and they are peeling would like to change them out…
I found I have another lock knob but only a single….and it’s different …and not sure what it’s from
Did these change through the years….?? I’ll post a pic in the morning of what I have on the car…
And a good source ( Ames ???? ) for new ones that are correct if they are diff throughout the years…

Early were ribbed, later plain. Many variations able to be swapped to taste. 68-72 seems a popular thought on the ribbed.

Default chrome pulls from ames

I just received my pulls from ames. they are exactly as my chrome peeling originals.

ames reccomends to run a tap thru them so as they screw on tight they won't crack. i did that, zero issues same as original. like em.

funny thing how back "in the day" the lock pulls we changed out right away on our cars to something catchy or those straight anti-theft ones. now, we want what we thought was to ordinary back then.

A tap is probably a good idea. I have struggled trying to thread some of them on in the past.

GM PN is/was 9813799, smooth. OER has a repro. Summit sells a wrong looking kit.
