Well.... Confirmed fatalities at the motel in my town. Fast developing tornado hit a motel at highway 81 and I-40.

Continuing to pray...

Still in the mid 90's here in North Louisiana. Grass dead. Burn ban in effect.

http://louisiana.maps.arcgis.com/app...3340f6b7933815

Record temps in the Southeast.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...st/3820470002/

BUT, the cooler weather is supposed to get here by Monday morning.

https://weather.com/weather/tenday/l/USLA0319

Been seeing pics of snow up North.

The cooler temps will be welcomed around here.

Funny thing early fall here in the mountains of So. Cal and the temp is 59 about 15 degrees cooler than normal.
Fall colors started about a month early this year.

It's been so hot and DRY here... 99 yesterday... that l saw something that I'd never personally witnessed.. Last year's Christmas tree lying on my burn pile caught fire SPONTANEOUSLY. I saw a small column of smoke, walked over to the pile and it just started burning. It hasn't rained here in nearly two months by the way

I heard on the news it was 100 degrees at Raleigh-Durham Airport on Thursday, a new record. 100 degree days in October are a first.

We’re looking at our first significant rainfall since July. August and September are normally our driest months but this is ridiculous.

High Mon predicted to be only 71°, with lows in the 50's. That'll feel great !

Finally out of the sticky low 90's/high 80's.
Front made it through here early this AM with some light rain. Was followed by another portion of same front this afternoon, winds changing directions. Very comfortable rototilling, raking, & seeding shade grass.
61 right currently, 48 in the morning, mid to high 70's most of the week. Perfect weather out in the shop.

Been raining nearly all afternoon and evening. Of course, there are multiple accidents due to people forgetting that rain is wet. The air smells so much better after being thoroughly cleaned by the precipitation. More rain expected overnight and early tomorrow morning. Highs in the upper 60s. This time last week we were breaking high temp records.

We got hardly any rain here. Never was a big temp drop. But, it's remained cloudy, with a breeze, and no temp increase, during the day. Current temp 67°, instead of 97° +.

Feels great !

Just heard some honkers fly over, headed South. They're headed for the lakes & swamps of South Louisiana.

Cold weather can't be too far behind. Couldn't see 'em, cause it is overcast.

I am in the southwest corner of Georgia and we have Canada Geese here year round. Temps are still in the 80s but they are supposed to drop into the upper 0s this weekend. Time to light the light the pilot light on the fireplace!
