The autumn is absolutely a let down here. All brown and puke yellow with little color..

That's what I miss about living in Northern NY and traveling thru Northern New England.... the fall colors. And summer too as it's not as hot as here in Delaware. As for the rest of the year up there... not so much.

Due to a lack of precipitation here this year a lot of the leaves have just fallen off the trees without turning. They're predicting very little leaf change color due to the drought here this year. 8-9 inches behind the seasonal averages.

Didnt notice the color of the leaves. Odd. Very odd. As a teen, broke ice, & dropped hay & salt lick many times in very similar surroundings. Your exact pic could have easily been taken looking north towards the Wichita Mountains in SW OK from state Hwy 62.
-Near exact shape worn down small mountain range,
-sparse vegetation,
-a stand of trees,
-& a few cattle

Yup, everything is changing color here. Still a lot of green, but it's changing.

We're getting some color change down here but only due to lack of moisture and the color is dead leaf brown.

Aspens were a couple weeks late here. We also have some dry areas where leaves dropped without a show.

We don't get those beautiful reds but the aspen are striking when an entire hillside is lit up.

These were "pre-peak" from a week ago on Kebler Pass:

Colors have been a little muted here so far, but they’re picking up with a few recent cold nights. We’re probably at least a week away from peak colors.

This is the road in front of my house a couple of days ago. It’s kind of down in a hollow and the leaves are farther along than the surrounding hills.

I can only imagine what the colors are all across the Adams Range, and up in Colebrook. Fall was always great up thru there... but in the winter... no so much.

Even in Maine from Bangor up thru to Fort Kent should be really colorful right about now.

Was golfing at The Summit in Cannon Falls, MN today. It was 55 degrees and there was a threat of rain. But the rain held off until after we finished and we had a good round of golf. The whole course was gorgeous, but I didn't think about snapping a photo until I missed some really pretty holes. I did take a couple....

1. just before my chip shot on to the green on this hole...

2. and another from the tee box on a very narrow par 3 - the white dot in front of the tree in the distance is the pin

Fall is nice...I like it. Just wish the tourist would thin out. Traffic is a mess all summer and then the leaf peepers... winter is the only time now where I can get around without waiting in traffic.

A few pics of the back 40 from the back porch this morning ... will probably peak in a couple of days. In upstate NY.
(of course the dog had to poop in the picture)
