Default WIW Nice ‘69 Only Tinted Glass

Hi guys,

I have a nice set of ‘69 glass. I know the rears are 68-72 but the fronts are 69 only and in nice shape.
What’s it worth?

Thanks!

you dont mention if its a ragtop or a hardtop, sets of 4 side windows in softray seem to pop up on ebay in the $200-300 range assuming no major scratches with convertibles pulling the high end of the range.

68 obviously is the vent window. 69 had a one year only mechanism to control the window travel so the lower (unseen) portion of the glass is different than the 70-72. I believe the change in 70 was both for accommodating the new crash bars and also to improve the tricky adjustments needed to align a 69 door window properly.

Thanks North.
To answer your question I do not know how to tell if they are Vert. I would say they are hdtp as they don’t look special to me.
I also think I read that 71 or 72 mechanism is different than 70.

Hi Greg. The rears I was told are all the same by OPH and others that I respect on the board. Otherwise we could all be wrong

The quarter windows on a convertible have a pronounced hump along the top while hard-tops are rounded

LOL! I threw out about 750 lbs. of glass, most of it tinted, hardtop and convertible. Just is not worth the hassle. I friend of mine did the same with '70-'72 glass. He said he hauled it to Carlisle for 10 years, sold 1 tinted quarter piece for $20.00, broke 2 and tossed 9 more in the trash. He said never again.

That may be what happens here, I’m bringing it to Norwalk, just thought a numbers guy might need some early date coded glass. Hate to throw something away that’s 1 year only

Whatever you do, please don't leave it there. The Baders are good people that treat people very well. They deserve the same.

As for me it was a matter of economics. 750 lbs. of glass takes up a lot or real estate in my trailer. In that same space, I can put bins filled with 750 lbs. of NOS potmetal trim. I can get $3000.00 in sales with 750 lbs. of NOS parts vs. 20 bucks for 1 piece of glass someone is going to smoke a pipe over for 20 minutes because of a minute speck he found. Like I said, just not worth it.
