Default 70 GTO Horn issues

I'm putting a repro formula steering wheel on 70 GTO. Horn did not work with standard wheel. When I took standard wheel off the wires were disconnected inside the spokes. I'm now putting new wheel on but for some reason the cancel cam doesn't have the L shaped cut out, that the part that holds the contact and spring in, quarter turns into? I'll order a new cancel cam. Question is: As I'm waiting for part to come, is there a way to blow horn from column to see if it works?

The black wire in the turn signal harness connector is the ground path for the horn relay. If you ground it ,the horn should honk.It runs up the column to the slip ring. You can also ground the button on the turn signal switch that touches the backside of the slip ring.
