Default 17 inch rims

I’m looking to upgrade to 17 inch rims on my 67 gto with the stock rear end. How wide of rims and tires are people running and what’s your back spacing? Any help and pictures would be great.
Thanks John

1967 GTO..255/45-17 with 8" wide rim and 5.5" backspace on all 4 corners. No rubbing anywhere. The front has Global West uppers and lowers with Baer 12" brakes on the B body spindle. I'm not sure if that changes the front track width or not. Hope this helps.

Do you have any pictures? I’m only seeing 4.5 inches of back spacing on the rims I like

I have the 17" Year Ones on my 67. I am running 235/70/r17 Eagle GT tires on all four corners for the sake of being able to rotate them. They are also the closest in height to the original tires with a nice sidewall profile. The stock 67 rear end is 1" wider than the 66 and that made a difference when it came to using these rims. I had to cut the wheel well lip back to the edge of the wheel ell trim at the top and just a little down the sides. It is not noticeable and only took off about 1/4-2/8" of metal. I would like to find a 66 posi-traction rear end but am not actively searching for one.
The third picture shows the original 14" rims.

dream67...I don't think a 255 will fit with 4.5" back space...maybe with the 1" narrower 66 rear. My wheels were custom made with the 5.5" back space. There was no off the shelf wheel available at the time I bought the wheels and tires(2013).

I just had my rear end rebuilt so I’m sticking with the 67 rear end.

With the stock rear end 235s are about as wide as you can go with the Year One wheels unless you jack the rear end up. Like I said in my post above I had to trim the wheel well lip to make mine fit.
