Default Original Assembly Manual

Has anyone seen an original copy of the '67 Assembly Manual? Just curious if one existed. I would imagine that if one came up on ebay, it would go for a good buck. The reprint is an invaluable resource for working on these cars. But it would be cool to see some of the pages that are virtually washed out in the reprint.

Reprinted assembly manuals are available for most common vehicles. I think you will be able to find one, keep digging. I had one for my 67 Bel Air (Impala).

I agree that somewhere there should be a mint assembly manual, but so far I haven't seen one turn up. I have two of the reprints from different sources but both manuals have the same washed out pages.

What model are you talking about? A Firebird, a Lemans/Tempest/GTO, or full size car?

Good Point - helps to be more specific. Here's the cover page of the assembly manual and a page chosen at random. I could have found totally blank pages if I had taken more time sifting through the manual.

Default Assy Manuals

Did they ever have manuals for the early cars, 61, 63 full size for instance?

Yes. There were assembly manuals for every year going back at least to the 1950s, probably even further back. Problem is most of them were for internal use only and chucked after the model year was over except for the occasional one that managed to survive. By the time anyone knew what they were worth they were long gone.

Get the high quality version if you can, those are easily readable. They only seem to have them for 1969+ cars sadly, hopefully one day they'll find a good original one and release it.

I'm sure they had assembly guides used internally, but as far as I know none of them ever escaped the factory.
