Default Front Subframe between motor mounts looks Damaged

Just pressure washed the engine bay and subframe , is this normal or did my 455 motor explosions cause these holes, to me they look like part of a rod hole.

I also included the shot of what the oil pan look like

WOW!
I would say it is from the engine. That is some pretty thick metal there, must have been running for awhile chopping at it?!!

WOW, have only seem damage like that once before to the crossmember of a subframe.
Have pulled countless subframes from partscars & projects & waaaay too many engines.

As ragged as the edge looks where the rods tore out that "slot", I'd use a cutoff wheel & clean up the edges of that slot. Then, carefully reach up in there & feel around the backside for any deep rust pocks. If no internal rust damage, trim a piece of steel plate & weld it in.
