Default Key Fob rubber face replacement.

I bought a used G8 and the rubber face on the Key Fob is crap. I have a replacement face but I am unsure of how to open the Fob up to replace it. I don't want to go forcing it and break something. I also figured on replace the battery while I'm in there. Can someone explain and or display any pics or instructions on opening the Fob up? It would be very much appreciated. Thanks guys.

1. Open Flip key and stick a suitable hard, flat object in the little slot. It doesn't have to go very far, it's just to gently pry the two halves apart.

2.Once those two pieces are separated, find the small opening in the end, insert the flat tool of your choice and gently twist. The top will separate from the bottom. Be careful as the actual transmitter circuit board assembly can fall out at this point

3. The key ring mount slides off of the button pad. Slide it onto the new button pad. This is a good time to clean the mug out of the other half of the key fob.

4. Squeeze the button pad back onto the lower half of the unit, making sure that the circuit board is properly seated. Squeeze it all the way back together.

5. Slide the newly assembled section back into the flip key portion and you're set to go.

Thank you. I was worried I'd snap something if I just pried on it. Gunna try it tomorrow.

Just switched it out. Still did not come out easily. It finally popped and skeered the heck out of me. I thought I had cracked it. All's good and working Thank you.

If there's one thing I've finally learned over all these years, is, ask first before forcing. Before the interweb it was not as easy finding answers. Lots of broken stuff in the old days, heh. Thanks again.
