I think the blue vin stickers started in August of 69. The cowl tag on my T/A is 08E and it has one.

My car was shipped September 1968.

Where is the cowl tag located? Or are you talking about the tag on the firewall?

Default Decal

In mid to late year 69 the gov started suggesting and eventually requiring for all door stickers to be added. My car is late 69 and I bought a new decal sticker from ecs automotive and looking for someone with a late build on a 69. I have several 22nd gen birds but the door ends have an obvious place for a sticker.
Thanks

Was there a revision on the door for the indentation of the decal?

I think most of my 69 Birds didn't have a decal.
(at least don't remember seeing any)

Just had a thought, possible when the 69 Model ran over with the delay of the 70 Model, they added the decal for 1970 year regulations?

There was a change to the inner door frame, two horizontal ribs were added to it.The sticker is centered between the ribs both up and down and right to left.Sorry for the late reply.

That GM sticker should not be on a 69 GM product,it is from 68. With that said I would question the vin sticker placement. Maybe some of the first cars that got the vin stickers had the old style inner door frames. My car looks like the Camaro picture.

A note out to everyone about these stickers. Several years ago I reproduced these stickers with your VIN and Build Date printed on them. I am now able to offer these custom printed stickers again. Message me if interested. I will also post in the Parts for sale thread when I get time.
