safe-t-track axles?
Are open rear axles from a catalina the same as the axles from a safe-t-track rear?
Bearing are so/so and rusted and I was wondering if I could stab the ones in from the open rear still in my car?o |

Own experience is '65-70 BIG Pontiacs used the same 31 spline axles, whether a single track or Safe-T-Track rear. Axle bearings for this style rear was a sealed axle bearing RW508. Sealed axle bearings are notorious for seizing & chewing up the axle mating area under the bearings inner race. In rearends builds on B series rears of this style, I've typically removed the original axle bearings & wheel studs & replaced them all.

I just got the rear out so. I’m taking that as a yes and I’m going to transfer the axles over.
