4speedta, That car was made for yellow! What a nice color combo...............

Every time I see a 65-66 B body wagon, the theme from "My Three Sons" starts playing in my head.

Me too! I had a Mayfair Maize on black 65 GP with a 8 lugs before I had that 2+2. I used the GP as a daily driver from '97-'99, I put about 40,000 miles on it. I drove it from Nevada to Washington and back with NO heater in the middle of March (brrrr).

Take care,

gregneun, I used POR-15 with the cloth on my 65 trunk floor and it worked out great. Of course, if you can find good sheetmetal, that would be the best.

These were taken during a three-way engine swap last summer. The cars looked so cool together on my basketball court I had so snap a few photos. Not shown is the 455 donor, a 73 Bonne 4door. My wife called it the great green monster.
I sold the 389 from the 65 to buy the whole 455 car, and my friend put the 389 from his 64 on a cart for now, as it had a wiped cam lobe.

Default Pictures of my 64 GP

Hello: Here's a couple of pictures of my 64 GP. I have done everything to this car myself, motor and trans swap, body work, paint, etc... It's a 64 GP, 68 400 4BBL,400auto. I painted it 66 sunfire yellow with gold and blue pearl added to the clear. It's not a show car, but is a respectable driver.

Default 62 Grand Prix

I found this in a probate, 55,000 mile well preserved very nice, could use paint at some point. It has a 425A tri power 4 speed 8 lug, was originally Kimberly blue. Has original interior with the exeption of the carpet!

firetruker1, great GP!

What letter is in the VIN on the car? Also, the '62 name for your car's color is Yorktown Blue (Kimberly Blue may be a Ch3vy name!)

Interesting side note - every '62 I have seen with Yorktown Blue (the lighter blue) dash paint, the pedals are Ensign Blue (the darker blue) - until yours!

Hope to see the car in person someday!

This was originally kimberly blue(per PHS) color works well with interior, I will redo same again. This is actually a 59 Cadillac color, a bit lighter than the Pontiac shade. vin is 962P10173. thanks for the comment.

Firetruker1

Nice GP it goes to show that there are still some very nice cars out there in garages, barns (covered up) estate sales and auctions just waiting for the right Pontiac guy to come along.

I allways wanted another 62, I ruined a burgundy 4 speed tri power 8 lug catalina on my 18th birthday ( that was in 1974). This car is definatly much nicer but I new even then I knew how special that car was. Just for the record I have continuously own a GTO since I was 14 years old.

Matt, in 62, Kimberly blue was a non-metallic light blue- a baby-blue color similar to the engine color.

Default 65 Catalina

OK, I guess I will have to put my project on here as well. Keep in mind that it is a work in progress. I did a frame off on this car and I am a little slow at it due to kids, work, etc....... you know what I mean. Anyway, I hope to have it painted this year and going back together soon after. I have an all new interior for it in the basement. I love these cars.
It has a 389 bored 0.060 over with std 400 forged pistons, 1968 #16 heads, long branch manifolds, Crower 60916 cam, 2-1/2" exhaust with X pipe, Cliff carb, TH400, 3.42 posi, 12:1 steering box, 1-1/8" front sway bar, 1" rear with boxed upper and lower control arms, tilt, buckets and new custom front springs sitting in the box (I hate the springs that are on it in this picture)

65catalina- that looks like a nice project going there. What brand of sway bars did you use on the car? I think the way it is sitting in the picture looks good. Pat

Thanks. I used Addco bars on it. I think the front is way too high and the 3/4" drop front springs should bring it down where I want it. Of course then the rear will be too high....

65catalina- I would be interested in seeing some pics of the rear sway bar on the car. I want to add them to my GP but I hear they might hang low. Or are they bent like the factory bars? Thanks Pat
