Default Clearances and Lifters in engine rebuild

This is a follow-up on my prior post regarding using the bbc lifters. I purchased a set of the Johnson lifters 2112 OPR with the understanding the differ from the Comp 857 lifters they are replacing. I did this due to the lifter bar failure on the Comp set. The shop doing the engine rebuild has performed the lifter bore modification described on this website and recommended by a couple of other shops I spoke with (see picture). I included pictures of the lifters with a side by side comparison and notes regarding the markings. I've also included the shop's notes on bearing clearances. Please give your feedback and opinions. I want to make sure we are on the right track and get the engine as reliable as possible.

Have you checked the Johnson lifter for dropping the oil band too far below the lifter bore? It's usually the problem with chevy type lifters.

I guess I kind of wonder if you're going with a johnson lifter, why you aren't just purchasing a johnson that's designed for the Pontiac engine? Butler has these.

My understanding is that the Comp is the only lifter with the oil band specifically designed for the Pontiac engine. I'm not really keen on using those since I had a failure with them before that could not be tied to anything other than the lifter bar failure.

Apologies, I see you had the part number in your original post. The 2112OPR is the Johnson part number for the Pontiac specific part. 2112BB would be for the big block part.

The shop double checked and there won't be an issue on this. That was a concern of mine as well.

No one commented on your bearing clearances yet but I find it interesting the difference from journal to journal on the mains. I think the rod clearance clearance is a little tight.
