Default brake distribution valve

My 70 T/A had the brake valving removed. I obtained this set from a 70 Z28. is this the same as a 70 T/A?

see pic

or is there a better way for disc. front and drum rear.

thanks

It looks like the 70 Bird, except really rusty.

yea, but will clean up brass and some plating . not much on inside to do. two of the valve and brackets are hard to find . so i'm told. 70 only .

inline told me to use a 71 valve. they only have one valve

You'd have to change all the stuff for the 71.
Probably reroute some brake lines also.

Yes those components appear to be correct for a 1970. I just removed all of my original 1970 components and went with all new 1971 and up components. If you go with the 1971 and up set up, you will need to replace the two lines from the M/C to the new combination valve and then the long line that goes from the combination valve to the rear break hose. The other lines don't need to be replaced. Good luck.

If you have all disc brakes, you need a setup for all disc brakes?

The master cylinder and proportioning valve need to be for 4 wheel disc brakes.

Or modify the standard drum setup.

I'm leaning toward going back to drum on the rear (stock) and of course keeping the front disc. The rear 3rd generation F car disc on the rear are old and the E-
brake was never hooked up. i see they make the cables to fix this but just not in love with it.

did some blasting. looking better. now will take the valves apart and clean and replace o-rings

If you go with the 70 brake lines, look into purchasing from SSTubes. I worked with them to have accurate lines made off of my originals. Had to send lines back to Classic as well for corrections. Hopefully they made the corrections permanent and not just for me.

Yes those are correct. I just did those on my 1970! Inline tube does have the hold off valve and the proportioning valve, they do not have the distribution block. I reused my block and bracket and used the new valves and lines. The valves are pretty damn close to exact replicas but the lines need some tweeting to get everything to fit nice. I replaced the brake lines with inline tube as well and they should be sending me the front brake lines today seeing how the first set wasn't even close to right, I'm hoping they sent me power brake lines and their manual brake lines fit.

Default brake distribution valve

Just reviving this thread.

Anyone have some 70-73 brake valves that are OEM parts?

70?

71-72?

These are for power brakes...are manual different?

Here’s what I have read, bendix was the brand, not sure about 70 since they are a different set up. In 73 I’ve read that there was a problem within the valve and a lot of them were changed over to brass, which I’ve seen on a lot of 73s. That’s what made me kinda of look into it. Anybody have anything to add? Or or even just a pic,

I have never seen that bendix was the proportioning valve used on a delco moraine brake system?

Unless it was a replacement part?

We need some original owners or some guys like norwood who have had their car forever chime in. These cars are so old who really knows.

From 72 Service Manual:

Manual Setup:

Power Setup:

They appear about the same, just a different bracket?

And the 70 is different with the extra pieces used.

70 valves. Mike, if you look at the one in your pic, you should be able to find a date code on one side.
