Default 1967 GTO Ram Air insert

I have converted my 67 GTO hood for ram air and bought all parts from Ames. The carb pan was OK but the ram air insert looked like someone stepped on the mold. It was completely out of shape not even close to be a match. They said they have never had a problem but I can't believe that. I saved my original and bought a used one on eBay and chopped it. it fit like a glove !

AZ Racer, I apologize for your frustration! The ram air hood inserts do tend to fit poorly on original hoods, and will need test fitting on both the original and reproduction hood. Can you please PM me with your customer info? Thanks!

Thank you for the offer of help. I'm all set now. I just wish you guys would pressure your suppliers to make quality parts. You charge top dollar for your stuff and I don't mind paying for quality parts but hate paying top dollar for inferior parts.

I'm glad you are all set! We do our best to work with suppliers on product development, and making sure we carry quality products. In some cases there is only so much we can do, and that is why we have a detailed description of almost every part, and their quality/fitment. I think you will find that our prices are some of the most competitive in the industry. We cannot do anything about the high cost that some of our products bring though.
