WIW... 1974 Grand Am 4 speed project
Just curious on what would be a good offer for this project. It is numbers matching and rot free (some surface rust here and there). An extra nose cone is sitting in the interior (look over at the PS seat).. LOL.
Would like to do something 'different'.. However, I know very little about these cars and if there are reproduction parts (like seat covers, interior parts, bumpers, etc.) or decent used parts available.. Thanks! http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...ght=1974+grand

no bumper covers available...you will prob never find a used one good enough to use so make sure its good on the car.
they are cheap really..unless you need something like bumper covers or the scooped hood..very niche type car....buy the best you can there no real aftermarket support..they do drive well...ive owned a couple and abused them as drivers..both where sticks too...many years ago they where expensive cars..but just not popular anymore all i have seen have rust probs..and no parts to fix them..buy the best you can find.. a 73 GTO would be a better car..on a builder stand point.. thats a $1500 car on a good day and its because its a stick...of course if you own one, then they are worth a lot of money...people that like them are very loyal to the cars personally i feel, if you like the style buy a Can Am..they are starting to come on in collect-ability..good ones can still be had..and they are bringing decent money for nice a one..

If it runs and drives and ISN'T ROTTEN, the 4 speed cars tend to bring some serious bucks (for the '73-77 A-body world). I'd say you can expect to pay between $1500 and $6000 for a 4 speed variety that isn't perfect and needs some work, but is not rotten and drives decently enough.
If it's junk, the 4 speed parts are worth $1000 any day of the week. |

Hi all,
Figured I would post a follow up from this almost 2 year post. I decided to pull the trigger on this one. I can say the first time I saw it at my friends farm I knew I would end up buying it. It's different, but cool? Kinda an ugly duckling - just different from everything else. Plus, I dig the 4 speed and the honeycombs.. With the silver and red. The owner was picking up one of his cars and said "hell... I'm just going to load it up one day and dump it in your driveway". I don't expect it here anytime soon, but it will be here. I will be asking MANY questions to those of you that know these cars...

Thanks! He's more of a Buick guy... that GSX is one of 7 or 8 GSX's he owns... LOL.
I am looking forward to the GA. Going to make her stock colors and options, may tweak the engine some and update the suspension.. Otherwise...
