Default Water pump sleeves-confused

I am converting from a 4 bolt to an 11 bolt pump. I bought a new timing cover and divider plate along with my new pump. I also purchased divider sleeves. The sleeves are plastic. They have a rubber seal in the big end. What am [I] missing? There are no metal tubes in my new timing cover. I have searched this section and am more confused/stupid. HELP!

Usually the water pump sleeves are metal, with the rubber seal at the big end. Never seen them made of plastic..? They go into the 2 water ports on the timing cover, big end facing radiator.

Can you post pictures?

If I remember right, the sleeve diameter doesn't fit in the cavity tight anyway. It just directs the flow. So, not sure if the material matters.

The steel ones are prone to rust, and can lock up in the cover. Plastic is a great idea, as long as they withstand the temps, and don't distort when installed/in use.

I usually wipe down the steel ones with anti-seize before sliding them into the cover.

^^^^

The reproduction sleeves are smaller in diameter than the originals, so they dont get stuck. Doesnt matter if they are not tight in there as long as the rubber seals are seated against the divider plate water holes.
