My GP has a black interior. What is diffrent is the material used. Over the last year Ive done alot of looking @ other GPs and even GTOs, ive seen leather and vinyl, the 69 and 70 GTOs have a simmiler type fabric but its not the same pattern. My interior is a fabric vinyl mix. It doesnt look like it was reapolstered. The car is low milage all original (55,000). The back seat has a tear and the only thing I see available on the market is vinyl.

For 1971 they offered a choice of all vinyl or cloth/vinyl. If you haven't already, try SMS Fabrics in Oregon for factory matching materials...

Default interior

If it's a low milae car and you know who the owner is/was you may ask if it was redone. As it stands the only choice of interiors were a leather at opentional cost or morrikide which is a vynial type or a cloth, but not any mix of the three. It was not unusual for some one to change interior back then as it wasn't as costly as it is today.

No leather option available for '71 or '72 GP. The cloth seats were available at no extra-cost, they had cloth seating surfaces with vinyl sides.

not many cars have the cloth inserts for 71'!! I think I've only seen 3 or 4. Of those one was in my buds High School car from the late 70's. I'd say a pretty rare option. Let us know how you make out at SMS......Dave K.
